Environmental Audit

Compliance with Environmental Management Procedures are crucial to ensure vessels abide by applicable MARPOL and local state regulations. Our auditors conduct a thorough review of onboard compliance with Environmental Procedures.

The focus of audit is to verify adequate knowledge of environmental procedures, MARPOL regulations, proper functioning of Ship’s equipment and ensuring that malfunctions, mismanagement, and incorrect use of environment related equipment is avoided. Special attention will be given to operation of the Oily water separators (OWS), Oil content monitors and condition of Bilge tanks, Sewage treatment plant, Garbage compactors, Garbage storage bins and Incinerators. Interviews with officers and crew members will be conducted to verify operational compliance.

Oil Record books and Garbage record books will be closely scrutinized, and any findings and training needs identified would be immediately addressed. All Non-Conformities / observations raised during the Environmental audit would be drawn to the attention of the onboard senior management along with corrective actions to be implemented.
